Hello Marseille

A Trip to the South Of France

tumblr_oz7gxdfF6Y1raoljxo2_1280

Hey everybody! I hope you’re all doing well. I know it’s been quite a while since I last made a post on my blog but lately things have been quite hectic in Paris. That’s why for this weekend I decided to take a small break from the chaos of college and blogging and embark on a little journey to the South of France.

Over the weekend I got to visit Nice, Marseille and Monaco so look out for more travel posts to follow!

The first city of three that I visited was Marseille. It’s a gorgeous little port city located on the coast. What surprised me about it was the fact that the weather is so much warmer there than it is here in Paris. I barely had to have a jacket with me except for in the evening. (It felt like being in Ireland in the Spring even though it’s the beginning of November!)

The city is built on so many different hills and heights and each time you ascend there’s a more spectacular view of the harbour, of the city and of the sea. Really this city, although quiet at this time of year has so much charm, especially down by the harbour close to all of the boats.

Not going to lie, there’s really not all that much going on in Marseille in November. I feel like it’s the kind of place that really comes to life during the summer months. That said though it was really calming and refreshing just to be able to explore the city and the old port by the sea. There’s something about being next to the see and the mountains in the breezy winter air that makes me feel like I’m in Ireland again.

And that’s it for this post! Very short and sweet I know but I just thought I’d share some of the photos I snapped with you and have a chat. ^_^

Thank you guys so much for reading and I hope you’re all doing well. My next post (coming this weekend) will be all about my trip to Monte-Carlo so stay tuned for that!

As usual links to everything I’m wearing are embedded in the text above. Is it obvious yet that I have an obsession for velvet during the colder months? I seem to be wearing it all the time lately!

If you guys have ever been to Marseille or the South of France I’d love to hear about it in the comments below. ❤ I hope you’re all having a wonderful weekend and I’ll see you very soon.

Back in Dublin

A Holiday at Home

tumblr_oyjxjdvv6q1raoljxo5_1280

Hey everyone! Hope you’re all doing well. Today I’m back with a little travel post for you guys. On the 21st of October I celebrated my 21st birthday and because the day happened to fall on a Saturday, myself and my cousin decided to hop on a plane for the weekend and travel back home to Dublin.

Hello October

An Autumnal Outfit of the Day (Featuring Topshop)

versailles4

Between chai lattes, carving pumpkins and sweater weather, October has always been my favourite month of the year. There’s just something about the multi-coloured leaves drifting down from the brassy trees, the sunsets on the shorter evenings and the beginning of the colder weather that just radiates so much comfort and cosiness.

There can be no doubt that when Autumn arrives, one of the best things about the season is the feeling of wrapping up roastily and toastily in layers and layers of warm clothing. Not only just because it’s a super practical way of staying warm as the weather changes, but also because the more layers you add to your look, the more creative you can be with your outfit.

New Outfit, Who Dis?

tumblr_ovwz20UsdC1raoljxo2_1280

It feels like a while since I last made an outfit post for you guys. To be honest, things have just been so hectic since the run-up to moving to France so I haven’t really had the time to go out and shoot any fashion pics at all. Recently enough though I had the opportunity to visit the Palace of Versailles just outside of Paris. Because the location is just so beautiful and dazzling beyond words, I decided to take the opportunity to show you guys one of my absolute favourite go-to outfits at the moment.

One of my Favourite Looks Right Now

tumblr_ostnvgJH1E1raoljxo2_1280

Hello everyone! It’s Mew! And welcome to yet another summery outfit post here on our blog. I really hope that you are enjoying the summer break so far and that the weather has been nice to you wherever you may be. Right now in Dublin it’s quite hot but overcast as always, so I’ve found myself embracing some darker styles lately. And one of my absolute favourite pieces to work my outfits around at the moment is this beautiful mesh dress that I picked up in Om Diva Boutique a short while ago.

Hey guys! It’s Mew! And welcome back to another outfit post here on our blog. I realise it’s been a while since I last made a post focusing on just one sole outfit so today I thought I’d do just that. I also felt like updating you a little bit on what I have been doing this past week (before the stormy weather came the other day of course.)

How to Wear Your Playsuit this Summer

Two Looks that I Have Been Loving

PicMonkey Image

Hello everyone! It’s Mew! Today I’m really excited to be coming to you with another outfit post,

It’s really only recently that I have begun my obsession over playsuits and honestly, I can think of no better staple piece to have in your wardrobe this summer. They’re just so comfortable to wear and always stylish no matter what the occasion may be. You can expose your bare legs in them without having to worry about any unfavourable gusts of wind heading your way and best of all, you’re always guaranteed to look extremely well put together with minimal effort involved.

For ages now I’ve been looking for a playsuit just like the one I styled in this shoot, so when the lovely team at Éimí Boutique asked me if I wanted to share this outfit in a blogpost with you guys, I just couldn’t contain my excitement! Today I’m going to be showing you two casual looks that I have been loving lately and hopefully that will inspire you with some different ways you can wear your playsuit this season.

Are you ready? Let’s start!

Look One ~ Summer Sunshine

tumblr_os7jwbsmMg1vmonqjo1_1280

tumblr_os7jwbsmMg1vmonqjo2_1280

When it comes to choosing an outfit on those scorcher summer days, a classic romper worn by itself is always a good go-to.  Elegant prints like these really let the outfit speak for itself so you needn’t worry about dressing the look up with accessories. Instead, a large handbag and some tan wedges or sandals will work really well together at nailing a relaxed and casual summer style, while some large, oversized sunnies will really compliment the vibe. For the chillier evenings or the days when it’s a little breezy but still quite hot, you can throw on a simple jacket boyfriend cardigan and you’re good to go.

tumblr_os7k99i2tW1vmonqjo1_1280

Right now this is definitely my favourite outfit to wear on a sunny day. The look is just so cute, girly and casual. This playsuit is just so breathable and comfortable too.

(It even has pockets!)

Look Two ~ Darker Days

tumblr_os7jwbsmMg1vmonqjo3_1280.jpg

Of course I had to incorporate a more layered look to accommodate the cold weather of our ever-erratic climate so a mesh body and some semi-sheer black tights were a must. This look is perfect for the cooler days during the summer months and for the chillier evenings especially.

I love how the mesh in this outfit adds so much more attitude to the look. Here I wanted to go with an aesthetic that was a little more on the rock n’ roll side of things and I feel like the pairing of the ankle boots with they cat-eye sunnies really helps add to that style. As for the floppy hat… well, there’s just something about floppy hats and playsuits that always looks really flattering!

tumblr_os7j9sh5mr1vmonqjo1_1280-2

So these were just two of the ways I have been loving wearing my playsuit this season. Hopefully it gave you guys some styling inspiration!

Don’t forget to check out eimi-boutique.co.uk for some seriously beautiful summer pieces, including the playsuit I’m wearing!

Thank you guys so much for reading. That’s all from me for now and I’ll see you very soon in my next post!

Fun & Trendy: Spring Lookbook

Spring is in the Air!

Screen Shot 2017-03-18 at 21.13.21

The change in season is a great excuse to experiment with cool new spring styles and to reinvent your image by indulging in some new outfits. I’m not quite sure what it is exactly but there’s just something about the mystique of SS17 that has caused me to do exactly that. In light of the new season and the brighter days to come, this lookbook  is simply overflowing with sunny new spring styles that I just know you’re really going to love. Are you ready to check out some outfits with me? Let’s start!

tumblr_ombdd819Nz1raoljxo2_540.jpg

Blouse Available at Primark/ Skirt Forever 21/ Satchel Accessorize

There’s nothing quite so refreshing as the breezy feeling of a simple denim skirt/white blouse combo on a sunny day. For this look I went for a sort of college-chic type of aesthetic by pairing it with a cute leather-look satchel to give the outfit a sweet vintage feel. The best thing about this look though has got to be the fact that the blouse is covered in love heart sweets with cute sayings written all over. If that doesn’t make things that little bit more exciting then I don’t know what does!

Dress Liz Lisa (via Depop)/Maxi Cardigan Om Diva Boutique/ Handbag Louis Vuitton (via Siopaella)/Floral Choker Accessorize

No lookbook on love-mew.com would be complete without featuring at least one thrifted outfit. This dress is from a Japanese fashion brand called Liz Lisa, so the style is nostalgic and very doll-like. Patchwork is a huge trend this season and this dress gives the trend a type of girlish charm that’s both timeless and elegant. To compliment the youthful vibe of the outfit, I of course had to add some florals. (for spring? Groundbreaking I know!) My floral bag is a Louis Vuitton while his beautiful lace maxi that I have draped over me is a vintage steal à la Dublin’s one and only Om Diva Boutique. (Check out my post on their vintage basement here.)

Faux Leather Jacket Zara/Floral Dress Asos/Mini Backpack Accessorize

If there’s one rule for Spring it’s to never be afraid of a pair of oversized statement sunnies and a bold pattern to guide you along your happy fashion travels. For this outfit I wanted to go for a look that was romantic, chic yet laid back and edgy. And let’s be honest here, there really is no better way of doing that other than opting for the classic a-line dress/leather jacket combo. I think that this mini backpack really brings the colour in the outfit to life. As for the leather jacket, there can be no denying the fact that it gives any outfit a certain type of bad-girl attitude that is simply unrivalled by any other wardrobe staple in the face of existence. If it’s the aesthetic asf type of look you’re after then you simply can’t go wrong with a leather jacket to nail any style.

tumblr_on188lBiU01raoljxo4_1280

Faux Suede Jacket Zara/ Top River Island/ Distressed Denim Jeans River Island/  Mini Backpack Accessorize/ Choker Accessorize/ Cat Eye Sunglasses Asos

This final outfit is something a little more on trend and probably my favourite of all in the lookbook. Pastels are always so much fun for spring because they add so much brightness to any outfit. This season we’re saying goodbye to our dreary black winter coats and swapping them out for more colourful outerwear. With the onset of brighter days and longer evenings well underway, this dusty pink suede jacket from Zara is a must-have piece for a look that is fun, fresh and feminine. Gingham has dominated the fashion scene lately so for this look I decided to shamelessly join the trend brigade and style this bow-knot tank with a pair of distressed denims. Of course I had to style this outfit with the same red backpack that I carry everywhere with me because life is no fun unless you clash colours and commit the formidable faux-pas of pairing red with pink. So rebellious I know.

tumblr_on188lBiU01raoljxo2_1280-2.jpg

So these were all of the looks I have been obsessing over this spring. As usual, links to everything are embedded in the text above.

What are your favourite trends this season? I always love to hear from you in the comments below!

Thank you guys so much for reading and I’ll see you very soon in my next post.
